● City Council exploration committee: allowing up to two cannabis storefronts.

● No issue with adult access in Marin
● Allows for easy and personalized adult shopping
● Aligns with the rest of Marin jurisdictions ○ (united shared policy)

● However, the cannabis industry is using the same tactic as Big Tobacco to attract kids.

● cannabis use
● cannabis use with alcohol
● perceived cannabis availability
● lower perceived risk
● perceived parental approval
Towns with less cannabis retail availability had lower youth use
2024 Large northern CA study w/ Kaiser Permanente:
● Adolescents in areas with less retail cannabis availability
● associated with a lower prevalence of cannabis use & problematic use.
● Longer drive time associated with less use by youth.
